Vegetable Master Plan Diagram

Vegetable Master Plan Diagram

I have now completed the diagram of the 3 vegetable plots pin-pointing the location where each vegetable will grow.

Plot 1 – Potatoes, Carrots, Onions and Salads.
Potatoes will run down the back of the plot in front of the fence, so their foliage doesn’t block the light for the rest of the bed.
Spinach, Lettuce and Radish will run in a line in front of the potatoes as they are low growers under the potato foliage.
Onions will surround the carrots at the front of the bed to hopefully deter carrot fly with the onion smell.

Plot 2 – Cabbages, Kale, Spinach and Chard.
Kale and Chard at the back of the plot as they are the tallest.
Spinach next in front of them in a line.
Two varieties of cabbages from middle to front of plot.

Plot 3 – Peas, Beans and Salad Infills.
Trellis at the back of the plot in front of fence with wire/twine runners at right angles for the peas, beans to climb up. This will not impose on our view over the back fence as the peas/beans will run up the twine and over the trellis.
Anywhere there is a gap in planting salad vegetables will be planted.
