New Year Plot Report 12.01.2008
Posted on 12. Jan, 2008 by Tracey in My Veg Plot
Today I will mostly be thinning cabbages and pulling out my mini leeks which have sucumb to greenfly.
Cabbage Plot 2
After Thinning (Wk 40 12.01.08)
My cabbages showed signs of whitefly which is a good time to create some space in the plot by thinning so that the pests don’t infect all plants. I thinned and destroyed the ones that had whitefly. Thinning also encourages growth as we will see in a few weeks time.
Bean and Peas Plot 3
The progress of my Broad Beans and Peas has been brilliant considering they have not been covered with fleece or cloches since sowing. They having been growing since 17.11.07 (8 weeks).
Plot 1 – Root Vegetables and Salad
Update: My Mini Leeks have been completely infested with greenfly all around the tops just above the soil level so I pulled them all up and destroyed them.
The last of the turnips have been harvested and pak choi, chicory and carrots are still being harvested.
