Posted on 29. May, 2009 by Tracey in Plan Your Veg Garden

My Mini Greenhouse is quite full at the moment with two shelves packed with salad vegetables. I have:

  • 3 and a half trays of Lettuce (Belize, Oakleaf and Salad Bowl),
  • Half a tray of Radish (Scarlet Globe),
  • 3 strong Cucumber (Crystal Lemon) seedlings
  • 9 Tomato (Totem F1) Plants.
  • 12 poorly Summer Cabbages (Minicole F1),
  • 1 root-trainer tray of Leeks (Pandora and Bandit) and
  • 2 trays of root-trainers of dwarf French Beans (Maxi and Major). Planted out on 25th May into my raised beds.

Please see below for photos of my mini greenhouse vegetables:

You have enough veg there to feed an army! I never have much luck with radishes probably because my soil dries out very easily and I don’t water well enough. I find the oakleaf Lettuces very good. They seem to stand well without bolting and the slugs aren’t so keen on them.

    Hi Carl,
Thanks for your question, my Summer Cabbages are looking much better thanks. I did think I wasn’t going to get any cabbages this year at one point! However they have picked up growth and theres at least 2 strong enough to plant out soon.
    Kind Regards
    Tracey
