Thanks for your article!

I am growing cherry tomatoes and strawberries in hanging baskets, basil, sage, thyme, mint, rosemary, oregano and scallions in pots, and green beans, jalepenos, bell peppers, cubanella peppers, eggplants, chives, and tarragon in window boxes! It is going great so far but this is my first year with window boxes so I'm pretty nervious!

I've been growing things on window ledges for years!

Started off with plastic pop bottles with the tops cut off, using garden soil and cheap seeds from the local B&Q shop!

Now I am using recycled rectangular plant pots which I found at the local council tip (cost me a couple of quid for 5! - New would have been about 5 Quid for one!) Using a mix of soil and compost (from my wormery - left over food that my worms have been munching on!) and packets of seeds that I have got from the local Freecycle mailing list!

Food tastes so much better when you have grown it yourself! (and so cheaply too!)

Hi Tracey,
What a fab experiment. I couldn't find an update on your site (that doesn't mean it isn't there LOL!) How are you getting on, were you successful with anything? Would love some advice on things that could be grown indoors.
