8 Reasons Why You Should Grow Your Own Onions

  1. They are one of the easiest vegetables to grow,
  2. Onions can be stored for long term use,
  3. They only need a small space to grow in, so good for raised beds or large pots,
  4. They grow in most soils,
  5. They are very useful in the kitchen for base for casseroles, stews or soups,
  6. There is an onion size and flavour for everyone, also try growing shallots or spring onions,
  7. If you are planting sets, there are not many pests and diseases to hinder your growing.
