Posted on 01. Nov, 2009 by Tracey in Grow Veg
I’ve finally planted and sowed my last seeds of the year in the form of my Autumn Onions and Shallots, Broad Beans and Peas.
I’m now growing:
Plot 1
OUT: Mustard Greens and Japanese Kale – crop failure due to slugs and caterpillars.
IN: 3 rows of Autumn Planting Shallots ‘Grise’ and 3 rows of ‘Senshyu Yellow’ Onions.
Plot 2
OUT: The last of my carrots.
IN: 3 rows of Broad Beans – ‘Aquadulce Claudia’ and 1 row of Pea – ‘Avola’.
If you would like to know how to plant shallots, onions or sow broad beans and peas, please view my How To Grow Winter Vegetable Guides below. They also contain growing tips, pests and diseases and harvesting information. There’s still time to sow onions, shallots, broad beans and peas in November.

I love the way that you set up your pictures – very organized and informative.
I know that our climates are different, but I am trying to overwinter some onions that didn’t quite get big enough this year (I started them from seed this spring and they just now are the size of your sets!)
